Gen 2 Turbo Wanted

Well known magazine, 911 and Porsche World would like to borrow a car for a few days for a project involving improvement to the induction system.

Basically they're after a test bed to prove the worth of some new aftermarket goodies including a revised 'Y' tube, plenum and intercooler. The car will not be driven on track or road and the Mag will provide a replacement car during the test period. They will also give some of the new parts used in the test to the lucky owner as a thank you.

If you would like to be considered for this interesting exercise, please either post here or email me at 997@porscheclubgb.com [:)]

Regards,

Clive.

I think possibly the big "W" problem will put off most....? Otherwise I would be very interested.[;)]

If the magazine were to indemnify you during the test period and then return the car to standard after the tests, plus giving you a box of goodies to fit at your leisure in the privacy of your own home, the only W issue might be tell tales in the ECU memory. Of course that presupposes a standard motor to start with [;)]

Or you could just buy a warranty compliant standard car that does 0-60 in 2.6 and 0-100 in 6.2 and a lap of 1:13.6 at Anglesey.

PS I did try to link to the PH video but for some reason it has been dropped from my post.

Well, that and the magazine article featuring the car....[:D]

I could but at £15k per 1/10 second improvement it doesn't seem like value for money to change[;)]

A reminder and update, guys.

Forge Motorsport in conjunction with 911 and Porsche World want to borrow a Gen 2 turbo to assess the performance of after-market parts including a 'Y' tube, plenum chamber and intercooler.

The conversion will be undertaken by a fully qualified professional mechanic and the vehicle will be reinstated with it's stock parts afterwards. The project is likely to take 2/3 days and the owner will be provided with a free rental car for the duration.

In addition, the owner will get to keep the 'Y' tube and plenum chamber and will also be able to purchase the intercooler at cost price.

If this sounds like an opportunity you would like to explore, contact me in the first instance 997@porscheclubgb.com and I will put you in touch. [:)]

Regards,

Clive.
