Set out to switch my lights over last night for european driving. Done it several times on the Gen1 997 - very easy with internal lever on the side of the lamp unit marked O-T.... 10 minute job....[]
Now for the Gen II car - removed the lamp unit as before, opened the back of the lamp housing.... oh God. there is a controller unit blocking your view into the housing and then a mass of wires and assembly parts.....[]
Back to the manual then... reading it... you have to remove the controller unit, and then find what I can only describe as the most discreet switch ever designed by man.... I stare into the unit.... dumbfounded.... the O-T symbol are now moulded on the outside of the lamp housing so do not help to identify where the switch is, only the direction to push...[] after five minutes I find a tiny spring clip on the side .... surely that cannot be it....? push it firmly, and up it pops... success.. []
I will post some digital pictures when I switch the lights back, to help anyone else with these lamps...
