Gen2 Sports Exhaust Coupling

Hi -

Is it possible to disconnect the exhaust coupling on a Gen2 GTS - my friend had a Gen1 Cs and could disconnect a brown/gold clip which made the exhaust note sound like a Race Car ... Is this possible with Gen2 cars and if so is it safe to do ...??

I am perfectly happy with the exhaust note especially with Sports button engaged but my curiosity would get the better of me - if its possible ...!

Many thanks ...

Not sure about GTS but I can and have done it on my 997.2 C4S. Its in the same place as the gen 1 but orientated slightly differently. Easy to do though and prevents that 30 - 50 mph quiet spot even with PSE on. Sounds awesome. I do reconnect it and switch it a few times once a month to prevent any chance of the flaps seizing.

Yes works the same on GTS - sounds good until you see the light and fit a. Sharkwerks 3 rd muffler bypass and then the cars really gets the soundtrack it deserves [;)]

Thanks Rocky and Waxman - Is there a thread anywhere giving photos of how you do it ...???
