Is the wind deflector part of the Bose package (as it ued to be on the old sound pack years ago). If not then don't forget you need that.

How about Xenon/Litronic headlights? Or are they standard now? (they really should be!)

Hi Whinbush,
Big spec.
You don't say if this is the 2.9 or the S.
My build date is 17th Feb., I changed mine to an S after test drive.

Not according to the online configurator.

Good question. Dynamic Cornering Lights are optional, but I wonder if you get Xenon lights if you don't choose this option?

Not only don't you get Xenons, but you dont get the LED Daylight Running lights either inspite of the coming EU regs requiring them. Standard you get a strip light for side lights and Halogens at the front and LED's at the rear.

Isn't that odd? They've been banging on about the new lights in all the reviews and yet they're not standard. Frankly, if they're as shouty as the Audi's they can stick them where the sun don't shine, but Xenon headlights really should be standard kit on such a costly vehicle.

I agree, but have come to the conclusion that the options are so much a gravy train for Porsche and not essential to the making of the car. To charge 213 for the rear screen and nearly 589 for metallic paint on a sports car is crazy. The price for the active Xenons is too much for me to consider, not doing a huge mileage.

Hi Chris it's the 2.9 Boxster I figured I would sooner load up with £6k worth of toys rather than bother with the S. Will I ever notice its 0.6 of a second slower to 62mph or 7mph slower top speed. Doubt it.
That being said it was fun buying this one as I never thought I would see the day I had an OPC sales manger jumping through hoops. And boy did I make him jump. If you have the cash guys n galls get in there now is the time to buy. I ended up with near 20% off the SRP

Yup the wind deflector is a separate item now but the cost with Bose is more or less as it was in total before. As for the Lights the led running lights are not an option as yet but you do get LED position lights built into the cluster as standard.
The Other Option I want is the twin tailpipe which I am told is coming later. I don't like the coal scuttle on the Boxster.

Oh forgot to mention I discovered that even though on the Porsche GB site they have the old Boxster images when you click on the config it gives you the GenII build.
Still wish they had more images of the options.

I put down a deposit on an "S" for a May build at the weekend to replace my 04 "S", spec to be finalised but currently:

Midnight Blue Metallic
Black Cabriolet Roof
Stone Grey partial leather seats
Wind deflector
Automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor
ParkAssist
Bi-Xenon lighting system with Dynamic cornering lights
PDK
Floor mats
Fully automatic climate control
Preparation for mobile phone (Bluetooth phone connection)
Universal audio interface (AUX socket)
BOSE Surround Sound System incl. CD storage box

Oh, now you've tweaked my interest. Was this through extra money paid on your trade-in, or just a straightforward discount on list (which Porsche would tell us they don't do!).

I find that if you add the item to your vehicle, you then get the eye symbol next to it in the list which when clicked on will show you what it looks like in the main view. You can fiddle it to give you a better view of the different wheel types that way.

Yes do tell, my OPC would not budge [:(] (effectively said "Porsche are keeping prices up by cutting the supply to the UK")

Combination of factors. They have paid way over the true trade in value on my old car and then a concession (they don't like to use the word discount) on the cost of the new one.
The 1st time I went in at the beginning of Jan the sales Guy just shrugged and said he could not do any deal. So I just left muttering the words BMW Alpina.
I went in 3 weeks later and asked to deal with the sales manager and put it in simple terms.
I have some money to spend I wanted a new Porsche.
I knew that his throughput of new cars would have nosedived.
Did he want to retain a current loyal customer by lowering his margin and getting a new car sale on the books? I also showed him what BMW were willing to offer on a new Alpina B3. Which was a tempting offer!
At 1st his offer was not up to much even after almost 2 hours of him playing with figures. So I said sorry we were wasting each other's time and I got up and left.
A couple of days later I had a call saying perhaps he could improve his offer giving me some waffle that there was nothing in it for the OPC but that it was about retaining loyal customers with financial help from Porsche GB..
Let's face it I am buying a car with close to 12K of overpriced options of course he had margin to play with and Porsche can't cut the supply that much otherwise the dealers will shut down all together on new sales.
My advice is play hard ball they have had it way too easy for a long time and let's face it RRP's are only RECOMENDED retail prices
