Geo at Buckley Tyres

Just had a full alignment done at Buckley tyres in, er, Buckley. Had done much work on the Cayman and it really needed it!

They have the Hunter Hawkeye system, the guy doing it (Kev I think) really went to town and I would thoroughly recommend them.

£69.90 for every single adjustment possible.

I was very impressed with the guy doing it, the Hunter equipment is amazing too. Car feels great now, took the longer route home!

Never thought about Buckley Tyres and I know them there too, In fact the owner is a Porsche owner as well. Did you have it set standard or a bit racy?

I wanted it as close to standard as possible, it's just a road car. The rears wouldn't take less than 2 degrees of negative camber with the new ride height, it's ok for now but I need to look in to getting some lower arms with more adjustment.

Hi Guy Speak to a guy call Chris at Centre Gravity in Tamworth. You can sometimes find him at Porsche track days. His knowledge on setups and parts is top notch. Always worth a trip. A&G

Giff, Isn't 2 degrees negative camber a bit aggressive for road use? How much rear toe-in are you running? GT3-type adjustable lower control arms are available (Elephant Racing?), but I think that they're for the front suspension rather than the rear. The rear suspension on the original 986 Boxsters used the same hubs and LCAs as the front but the arrangement was changed for the 987-series and I'm not certain whether or not the front and rear suspension now use identical LCAs. As Alun has said, Chris Franklin at Center Gravity will be able to advise you on components and set-up. Jeff

Posted this on p9, seems many just run the 2 degrees but fancy top mounts are needed to correct it. Saying that it feels fantastic, had a fantastic spin down to Wales yesterday, hardly any understeer just a bit of quite nice throttle induced oversteer. Quite incredible corner speeds..

Sounds good. What spring and damper set-up are you using and by how much have you lowered the car? Jeff

The car has only just turned 50k so I'm using an Eibach Pro Kit on std dampers, it's a bumpy B road car so it needs to be compliant and the Eibach kit just gives it a bit less body roll. Just got back, cracking spin.
