I recently had new tyres, clutch, discs/pads and a rear control arm replaced on my 2003 TT. It then had a full 4 wheel geometry performed.
Within a few hundred miles the suspension was creaking again so the car was returned to the garage who this time suggested that the other control arms needed replacing.
Now before the car was delivered for the 4 wheel geometry only the rear off side made any creaking sound.
I now have a couple of questions:
Could the 4 wheel geometry (if not done properly?) have caused the additional creaking; and
Is it unusual to have to replace all the control arms after 4 years and 38k miles; and
(Most importantly) Could the subsequent replacement of the remaining 3 control arms have any affect on the 4 wheel geometry.
I would like to clear this up before I settle the account.
Thanks
