Geometry & Screws

The restoration of my speedster as slowed a little over the past few weeks - waiting on a few parts and to be honest trying to enjoy it as much as possible.

I have a few questions however.

1. Car geometry. My cars turns in left easier than it does right. Bearing in mind it sat for over 6 years and then got completely new boots on it I feel it could do with a proper set up. Being an ex 944 cab owner, a good geometry set up made a considerale difference to all aspects of the car. Has anyone had their speedster set up? do they require this often or should I just focus on tracking etc. Any suggestions welcome.

2. Screws!!! Has anyone ever tried to find replacemret screws for the car - the ones I refer to are used in the following places. Dashoard to hold the windscreen air vent in place and the same ones hold the door carpet strip. The screws are about a 8 in black with a countersunk head slightly domed. I have tried every iron monger and every on-line hardware place on earth!!!! Porsche quoted me £1 each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sepcial order from Germany. any hep appreciated also.

3. I tried my local OPC for a windscreen but they say there are none - not even in Germany. Has anyone made any progres on this? I have a feeling they have not really looked hard enough!!

I'll post some pics on the forum soon.

All help really appreciated.

Cheers......Frazer

Not sure which OPC you tried, but I got a price recently for a screen - they are still available!

Fraser, I got my screen from Autoglass via insurance via Porsche, 2 weeks from order to instal no issues........£3K though......Porsche have stock.
What is you you location and I will try to assist with Alignment but it is crucial with torsion bar cars that it is correct to either std or your style/preference?
I like 3.2 slightly lower/aggressive stance and a little neg camber for road holding but we are all different.
Any good aftermarket or porsche race prep should do a good job....

tell your local OPC to ring Reading and ask for Richard Merrils-Brown he has checked stock and they have 31 clear screens in stock for the 3.2. Looks like they cannot be bothered to check, no wonder they do not get us owners of older cars going back to the OPC.[]
