geometry setting

hi

am planning a trip over to the autobahns and then on down to the alps in the summer, so am wanting to get the car in good order before i leave.

i was planning on getting the geometry all set up and was wondering if anyone had any other tips / settings i should get done as well.

finally, anyone got any good places for all this stuff to be done. prices seem to vary hugely from place to place. i live in herts.

I had mine done at Tognola in Datchet and they were excellent. They talked to me about my typical usage, and we agreed to set it up competely standard. They charge £160 plus vat. My Targa has bilstein shocks, standard ride height and standard anti roll bars. I live in Tring, and I had a choice of about a million indies in the area. Tognola gave me the best feeling when talking to them on the telephone.

I went to Tognola just over a week ago, £176 inc vat for laser alignment. Very pleased with them, definitely use them again. Take a good book as there's not much in Datchet though you could take a train to WIndsor to kill the time.

Yip......mine was done at Tognola...it was a few months ago........

I had RS settings......huge difference on turn in afterwards...apparently mine was a mare to do as severtal nuts seized etc...still only paid the standard price.....been v impressed with Tognola....they do all my servicing too.......

Only tough thing...... finding them .... and driving up the narrow entrance!!!!

I have not had experience of Tognola,but do hear many good things.
I live in Cheshunt and there is a guy in Nazeing (Harvey Racing) who have been specialising in Porsches for about 35 years,thier main work involves race preperation for privateers but they also do all other sevicing/repair and alignment.They use old fashioned equipment for alignment but i personally have seen much better results(the equipment they use is used for calibrating the modern 4 wheel alignment machines).
They are very fairly priced and very helpful/trustworthy.

and make sure you check your tyres all over. I'm off to the South of France shortly and have just found an egg-shaped swelling in a sidewall so 2 new tyres going on shortly.
