Hi Maurice

That does not sound so good if you have not seen one before.

I've had Hamilton and Palmer fit an alarm a few weeks back, they could not dissable this German factory fit system as apparently its totally integrated with the cars processing system. Not quite sure what that means but sounds like its part of the motronic ECU for the imobiliser.

Maybe I should contact Porsche in Germany?

I saw one of those intergrated key alarms on the Carnewal site. They offer a P93 Key Conversion Kit which offers "Everything needed to convert a switchblade key with integrated remote to a keyholder with flashlight with seperate housing for the remote."

I cannot help you the internals but perhaps once it is in its two constituent bits everything become a little clearer?

Hi pike
in replt to your dilemma.
the key fob that you have is the porsche drive block factory alarm and immobiliser
you can convert the 96 on switchblade key to the earlier type of case (because they break) but if you want to teach another fob to the cars system you must have the original key card for the car which has a four digit secret number(not the key number) which is used to put the cars alarm in to learn mode .without that code its impossible to teach new keys. the four digit code is input by the ignition key being turned on and off in sequence to the code.this is all explained in detail in the handbook of my 96 lhd c2 (english handbook) But i have never met anybody who had the secret code and im not sure if porsche germany keep a record of it. so if they dont and you havent!!
i think you will have to throw it away if it goes wrong !

hope this helps a bit.
regards christian
