Getting a labrador in the back...

Hi Guys,

Been a while since I posted, currently in the Aston fold with a V8V. Love the car but the two seats issue is starting to become annoying and thinking back to my 996 C4S I can't remember quite how much room there was in the back with the rear seats laid flat.

If I returned to Porsche then it would be in a 997, possibly a Turbo or a C2S not too sure right now as early days but I wondered whether anyone could advise whether a large size labrador could fit comfortably(ish!) in the rear with the seats laid flat? He was a puppy when I had my 996 and rarely travelled in it, mostly in the front on my missus lap but I remember the rear to be pretty spacious, am I imagining it?!?!

Sorry for the boring post but it's up there on my list of issues for the next car...

Thanks in advance

Thanks Pikeynet - although my lab looks like a larger dog there seems to be a fair bit of room there, as I remembered!! Good news!

Cat - 'Blank' - What do you mean?!?!

I think he means insert an appropiate adjective to suit depending on your view on Volvos.[:)]

Have to say I wouldn't let either of mine anywhere near that lovely interior!

Tried it once in the Turbo, never again !

I was late for a vet appointment and didn't have the other car available, decided to throw him in the back.

He hated it, no room with the small seats in the back, constantly moving from one to the other and didn't fancy him leaping onto the front seat while on the M6 !

But him, his sister and another fully grown lab have got used to more room in the other car, so may have something to do with it ?

But using a 911 to transport a Labrador ? ................Time for an additional car I would suggest. [;)]

There's a woman who drives a silver 997 on same back lanes as me some mornings. She has what looks like a Doberman in the back[&:], but its seems to have got used to it.

Got you - I'm not a major Volvo fan either! Thought he may have been getting at something to do with Ford/Volvo owning AM when the Vantage was bought out...

Peely - Hear what you are saying but that's why I would want to lower both seat backs to create a flat surface for him rather than getting him in one of the seats either side, can imagine he wouldn't like that!

Maybe an M Tourer alongside my Aston would be better, decisions, decisions!!

Get a 944 to use as a dog car. They fit a couple of proper dogs easily, and are so cheap it's going to cost less than having the hair removed from the 997. And, they are so good to drive you'll probably not feel the need to own a 911 anyway. [8|]

i think, though cant be certain, that they are the correct manufacture winter/snow boots -wouldnt want to affect the warranty now would we....[:D]

Paul - Do the Vizslas lie down quickly when you go to shut the hatch, or do they get headaches?! [;)]

Our dogs would never get anywhere near our 997 or 968. Makes me feel quite queezy just thinking about it [&:] .... got a Land Rover Deafener for that [:)]
