HI Folks,
Just picked up my new (to me) 2016 991 GTS Coupé today, first impressions are good.
Not sure what the Sport, Sport+ and damper buttons do yet, I will read the manual..... but in standard mode it all felt very good, ride and complice excellent and the powertrain sound quality was superb without being tiresome. I didn't explore the performance envelope but the stats suggest that shouldn't be an issue :)
Just tried to add a couple of photos from the iPhone but they didn't upload, anyone got any tips?
Cheers, Giles

Very nice & an awesome spec as that was one I was looking at online as well, so enjoy & hope to join the GTS clan soon.

Hi Giles
Happy new 991 and welcome to the 991 Register.
I can't find your details on my 991 database - you can update on the website or phone Chris Sweeting at Cornbury House 01608652911 then you will receive my email newsletters.

Hi Phil, thanks for the welcome!
I'm currently a forum member but not a paid up PCGB member as yet. I was going to come on the drive to the HQ on Sunday to see about joining but I was advised that the Open Day was for members only. I hope to get along to an event at some point.
Cheers, Giles

Quick question, I would like to use a C-Tek battery conditioner (MSX 5.0) on my 991. Does anyone know where and how I should connect one up?
Cheers, Giles

Congratulations Giles I was also looking at that car recently but decided on a black car instead

I picked mine up a couple of weeks ago and I think they are fabulous cars ??

Hi Folks,
I've figured out how to connect the C-tek trickle charger.....
Plenum cover off, positive crocodile on the positive terminal on the bartery and the negative crocodile on the negative post in front of the wiper mech motor.
Sorted!

Alternatively you can use the C-Tek cig lighter adapter ...

No that's not possible, on my 2016 991 the centre cubby box power point 'turns off' after a few mins.
I have not tested the power point in the passenger foot well.
Does anyone know if the passenger footwell power point stays live or not?

If you connect to any 12V socket in the car within a few minutes of unlocking the car and power up the connected C-Tek Charger the socket will remain live and allow the battery to charge, the 991 goes through a gradual power down after unlocking the car so if you leave it too long the sockets will no longer work. I always charged my 991 GTS using the socket the footwell one was the most convenient but the others work just as well.

The footwell one powers down after 20-30 mins, so I connect my ctek to the battery to which I wired in the battery ring terminals, and simply trail the lead out near the wiper.

Checked yesterday, any which way, both 12v sockets power down after a few mins, so.....
The manual says that you shouldn't connect the negative charger to the neg on the battery. Instead you should use the neg post infront of the wiper mech, has anyone connected the ring connector of the C-Tek to this post?
