Gillet vf Bischoff Muffler - difference in fitting?

Hi All

If I currently have Gillet mufflers (I think they're motorsound, how can you tell?), can I fit Bischoff RSR mufflers? Is there a difference in the fitting? Am I likely to need new heat shields (90k miles), what happens if you don't use new ones?

TIA!

The replacement heat shields are expensive. Chances are your old ones are toast. mine had disintegrated completely.

You do risk heat damage to the bumper if you don't replace them.

thanks for the replies everyone. 125euros for replacement heat shields from carnewal! any cheaper sources out there? begs the question if these heat shields fail on most 993s at some point why don't all bumpers melt?

do the doughnut rings always come with the gillet mufflers if they're original with the car? i have bischoff currently but would like to put gillet RSRs on, can you order the doughnut rings seperately?
