Give me the HORN!

Hi All

My 987 S is currently at the body shop after I was 'rear ended' by a total **** earlier this week
I am driving a new 987 S as a replacment from Accident Exchange (which is nice)

The body shop have told me that the horn is only working on one horn and it should have two. They say the horn is in the front bumper and they can't cover the work in the crash claim as the repairs required are at the back.
They have quoted me £30 for the horn part (thats OK I thought ) but they also want £330+ labour to remove the front bumper and fit said part!!! £330!!! to undo a few screws and do them back up!!......

I told them 'err no thanks...please just give me car back in its pre-bump state free of charge and I will be happy'
So I wondered if anyone has ever had the 'one horn not two' problem and if anyone could recommend somewhere for me to get it repaired for less

Many Thanks - Rich

I didn't think the front bumper needed to come off. I might be wrong?

It shouldn't take more than an hour anyway - not if they've done it before.

Instructions for an early car here - shouldn't be that different.

On the 987 you have to take off the PU to get at the horns. Book time to change the horns is just under an hour.

On the 986 you can get the lower muonted (high tone) horn off without removing the PU, but not the upper mounted (low tone) one.

Hi, just had mine done by Pete Lorimer for £145. sounds like you were about to be royally ripped off.
And I don't think its a bumper off job, otherwise the labour would be high.
Cheers
