Giving the 996 a chance again !!

Well after an unhappy year with a 996 C4 with engine and rms issues I did a deal for a BOXSTER 'S' and after 6 months decided that although its a great car, I just love the 911 too much.

After trying a few nostaga trips of test driving 964's and 993's which I have owned, I had to admit that I have got used to the modern PORSCHE.

So this time I decided I would not spend close to £40K again as I lost a fortune on the previous 996 (also the resale value on the BOXSTER 'S' its awful) I will be picking up a 1998 model which has a FPSH, full leather, sports seats, traction, sound upgrade, etc... for £29K which seems about the going rate.......

Lets hope this one is ok for a couple of years, if so I will buy newer if not it will be my last PORSCHE thats for sure ....

Good to see you've seen the light; welcome back to the fold.

Don't believe it might be your last Porsche though[;)]

Mark,

for my money, on any older 996 or Boxster, I would take out the OPC extended warranty, so that there can be no nasty surprises.
Its not worth being one of the 1% (or whatever) that experience problems
