Glasgow Club night

Beat me too it .I have been informed by a club member that the Reep night has been cancelled due to a lack off numbers .I for one was not going along and as such would not have expected an email to inform me of the cancellation but an email should have been sent out to inform the rest of the members that the club night was back on and anyone who wanted to go along as usual it's not as if we need to inform the hotel.
As to your question no idea ..we where promised a AGM to sort out this situation but thus far nothing I know AL. DA. and several others have voiced their felling's re meets .If you and others want to go to Sheerbrook on Tues if only 2 not worth the bother for you coming all the way from Ayrshire .
Brian re your above an email has been sent out informing all of the change for Tuesday. To let you understand the process of emails being sent to all R1 members; I compose the email then it goes through the process of being checked by the club then they send it out. This can take some time depending on what work the club has on. It’s out of my control as I’m sure you will understand.
Re your other point; there will be no AGM in relation to monthly meetings but a meeting early July (these things take time to organise) to discuss the way forward. An email will be sent out to members in ample time to allow feedback and time for people to arrange to attend. I’m sure you will understand.
Brian I’ve met you quite a few times in the last month or so and it’s a pity you haven’t taken the time to chat with me re any issues you have. I look forward to the meeting in July where all those attending will have the opportunity to discuss matters.
if I can help further in the meantime please give me a call.
Regards,
Donald. R1, RO.
Re the emails how was I able to post the above at 1.33 when the email regarding the call off only arrived at 3.04 from yourself and I was informed at 9.07 this morning by a fellow member hence the post and reply to CD
Re the second point a lot off the members have been very vocal about the lack of a meeting as you well know to discuss the East /West situation ,come July is into holiday periods I am sure this could have been addressed sooner and not dragged on !
Re the last I have no issues with you on a personal note ,the position as RO is not an easy task, done it for 7 years so know the position … but I feel you need to address the position with those more vocal who you are well aware off . as far as meetings no matter where they are held I will attend as and when I can ..so please do not make this a personnel matter between the two of us if I had wanted to discuss a club matter that affected me I would have said to your face .
What are we doing about club night moving forward ?
I believe that we should have a club night on a set day every month in the same location.
Having runs etc should be on a different night or at least start from the usual club meeting place at the same time as we may have caused a bit of confusion by moving it about. How many club members have turned up at the advertised club night to find nobody there and then not come back again.
We haven't had many club nights this year at the Sherbrooke. I think this needs to be addressed at Donalds meeting in July, which incidentally we need to be setting a time date and place for as many of our members who would like to attend have to organise their schedules in order to be able to attend.
don alexander said:Yep, nice and easy for us east coasters, but may struggle for seats bearing in mind the size of venue and number of members in the region. I still plan to be there providing EasyJet gets me home in time.
Don
Don't think the venue size will impact on the numbers turning up ,we can stream live coverage to those in the car park on the big screen link .
