Glasgow Secure Parking

Hi-All
Advice please anyone know of any reasonably secure overnight parking while visiting relatives around the Kelvin grove park/University area of city. Then continuing up to Skye for a week, would be grateful for advice on any not to miss places on route.

I can only think of two "˜proper' car parks in that part of town, and both are outdoor. Details here, on the City Council website.

Most residents park on the streets around Glasgow's West End, finding a space is a nightmare.

If you're really security-conscious, you'd probably need to use one of the two Q-Park venues in the city centre and catch the Subway out to the West End.

I work at Glasgow University and know this area well. Do not park there and follow poprock's advice.

If you're genuinely nervous you can park in our drive or stick the car in our garage overnight? (Genuine offer ~ and you don't need to leave a set of keys with me [:D] ).

We're very close to Glasgow OPC which is here ~ ( Multimap Clicky - approx £5 taxi ride from Kelvingrove / Uni area.

edit: Forgot to say that if you're heading for Skye you'll see plenty of nice roads & scenery. If you were heading towards Aberdeen I'd point you towards the A93 through Glenshee ~ stunning road and much used by various car magazines.

Thanks for the info guys keep it coming re not to miss sights, fantastic offer mik but probably ok now with parking will be confirmed next week,
