Hi all , as discussed with Paul today I have a good contact who is a gliding instructor at Bicester gilding club and if people are interested I will try to arrange what they call ' a flight & bite ' evening ,this starts at 6.00 pm till dusk so would be best say two weeks either side of the longest day. The bite is a hot dog or burger and the cost will be around £30.00 to £35.00 each we will need at least 10 flyers with a max of around 20 . Please let me know if you are interested and if there is enough interest I can start to plan the date , may be a Friday would be best. As I am a forum newby ! it would be safer to email to geoff-davis@live.co.uk

So would I, of course, Geoff - sounds good - great to speak to you earlier[:)]

As soon as you have a specific date and definite location, please post it up on here (and email me with all details, please), so we can get it out to the region via other means[;)]

Yes Paul got the date today ,it's Friday 27th June ,the details are £40.00 per person this gets you 2 winch launches and a burger ,we need at least 10 flyers to a max of 20 so if every one could re confirm now that we have a date that would be good .if the weather is not suitable for flying on the day it gets re scheduled. If we can get numbers confirmed in the next 2 weeks we can then sort out payments. Looking forward to hearing from you all ASAP. Geoff

sounds brilliant - good dates for me :) can you put me down for 2 please

only question I have is - can the gliders fit people 6ft 3 and 6ft 6 in ??

yeh will do - but if its answered on here then it may save geoff being sent the same email several times :)

Up to you.
Not sure if I can make this yet, unfortunately - thanks for your idea and arranging of this, Geoff.[:)]

Further update and size does matter ! The max weight is 16 stone , and anyone taller than 6' 3'' will find it a very tight fit ! , please confirm ASAP all who wish to attend, thanks Geoff

So far I believe the confirmed numbers are as below :

Andywill. 2
Davidv111. 2 tbc subject to size ?
Ravi911. 1
Melv. 1
Thepenguin. 2

Total. 8

Please let me know if any of the above are wrong , we also really need a few more to make this a good event so come on and boost these numbers. We do need more flyers but it will be OK if others just want to come to view.

Hi Geoff

Good to see you and Tim yesterday, hope you enjoyed your walk up the course. OK you've persuaded me, please put me down for the gliding plus one spectator, Sarah.

Many thanks
John

Great John thanks , that hopefully gets us to 9 . It would be very helpful if all on the list could just reconfirm for the final count , and we could still do with a few more. Don't forget your £40.00 gets you 2 winch launches & a burger , your flights will typically be 5 minuets or so as there will not be much thermal activity into the evening,so don't worry about being stuck up there all night !

Hi Geoff
Can confirm please put me down for 3. Myself and two of my sons.
Kind regards Andy.

We are now up to 12 so it's time to sort out the payments then I can pay the gliding club to secure our booking. Could all those attending please contact me ASAP on 0797 4936285 for address to send a cheque or account details to make a transfer, look forward to hearing from you all, Geoff
