glove box lid removal

My glove box light is intermittent and I want to clean the contacts on the push switch activated when opening the glove box lid.

Problem is I can't see an easy way to remove the lid or even how to release the lid stoppers to allow it to open all the way and give access to the switch.

Can anyone advise the best way to do this? - I'd prefer to 'unhook' the plastic stoppers if that's possible rather than remove the lid completely.

Cheers.

Just a follow up on this very old post because I've worked out how you do this.

You need to remove the 3 phillips screws under the glove box (at the bottom of the lid from the outside of the box - look up from passenge footwell).

Then you can unhook the plastic stop stays by moving the fully open door upwards (towards windscreen) while pushing the dash end of the plastic stays downward.

The stay on the left (door side) has a plastic gripper hidden in the slot that is (I think) designed to slow down the drop of the door. In my case this had to be loosened before I could unhook that side - self-tapping screen just below bottom of slot (this screw is only visible once you have moved the glove box shell a little - the sheel is held by screws inside it - 2 in top, 1 at each side).

Although, to get the switch out, you probably don't need to unhook the stays - once the 3 big screws are out I think the door moves enough to be able to pull out the switch. It just pulls out, easy to disconnect (paddles) and then easy to get a small blade into it to clean the connectors.

To completely remove the glove box shell I found I had to remove its light.
