Glove box light?

After chasing the cause of the blowing fuse for my clock, cig lighter, tailgate opening motor and interior lights I was just about give up when i had a sudden thought, glove box light! I opened the glove box to find... nothing, just a hole. In a last ditch attempt I shoved my fingers in the hole just to the left of the catch. Inside was a wire with uncovered spade connectors. Ive taped them up and poped the fuse back in and all seems to be well.

Could someone pop out to their car and have a look to see if I should have a light where the hole is please!

Yes you should. Glove box light is notorious for blowing the fuse. Especially when you remove the glovebox. Top tip always remove fuse before removing glove box.

Thanks!

Theres nothing there at all, im guessing theres a plastic diffuser type thing there normaly, same as the one in the headliner but a bit smaller?

Its been an random problem for ages, guess the wires just met occsionally and shorted it all out, its been really bugging me!

Indeed. Best deleted as it is nearly always brittle and crumbles away as you remove it. Or, you tear it out after blowing the fuse when changing the infamous clip on the heater controls.

How many times has anyone actually wanted to see their gloves lit up anyway? [:D]

Get 'em on a string round your neck like my mum makes me do. [8|]
Your mum gave you string? My mum put elastic on mine! Much better - means they disappear up your sleeves where you haven't a hope of reaching them ever again when you take 'em off ....

Oli.
