Glovebox Hinge Repair

Don't know if this has been mentioned before but I haven't seen it if it has.

The hinge on glovebox broke, which is a very common problem on 996. Fortuantely you don't need to buy a new center console, your OPC do a repair kit for 17 quid!

It basically consists of a new metal plate with metal hinge supports which is pop rivetted onto the center console. It took me 30 mins to do and that was being careful, you don't even need to remove the center console from the car, just take off the lasttop piece of the console between the glovebox and the rear seats.

Anyway job done.

And for good reason, see my next post

I don't know how to include a link to a previous thread but if you do a search for hinge in the 996 section you'll find a thread I put up with all the details and a link to some pictures of the whole process.

Hope you can find it.
