Glovebox rattle

Hi all,

I have an annoying rattle coming from my glove box. I have removed it and unscrewed everything in order to access the latch bolt which I then tightened up using a wrench. Put everything back together but...still the rattle continues !! it's definitely coming from the glovebox...any ideas ?!

Thanks,
Tim

I moved the lock round, i.e. took it ut and rotated it a 1/4 turn to next place where it worked and this fixed it for me

thanks

The rattle indeed very often comes from the lock... The OPC have the repair kit for it which coasts 15£ as I recall, I also put additional rub bumpons between the glove box door and the dasboard... It solved the problem...

Tim, actually you can find them in any general DIY shop, they are mostly used to avoid sound when closing drawers, furniture doors etc (they are self-adhesive). The best would be from 3M, but any other will do also. Just chose the right size...

Hope it will work for you

Andrew

I have a similar rattle. It stops if you push either the glovebox door tight or the airbag cover. Could that be the same?

I think it can be the same, I had the same symptoms... those little bampons that I was talking about actually make the door close tighter and thus eliminate the rattle... at least this worked for me..
