OK I've sorted out my alarm problems - fitted a new Toad[>:]

Now I can enjoy the wind in my hair on these crisp sunny winter mornings - however a hat(beanie) and sunglasses are essential for such motoring.

Mulling over what else may be essential it occured to me that the Forum could draw up a top ten or so of glove box essentials - following the chat it seems a spare DME relay might be number one, but what else should there be? fuel injection temperature sender? thermostat relay?

What do you suggest ? The final list may be worth writing up in PP.
 
DME Relay is a must for the outlay Vs the inconveniece when one fails.
I also carry a tyre pressure guage as I don't trust the garage air line units.
 
After my experiences on Sunday (two replacement bulbs) I would recommend a bulb set.

Also, with mobile phones and TomToms and all the other electronic gear we litter around our interiors a multiple cigarette plug adaptor is useful.

As is the programming module for your Link MAP kit - not that changing any settings seems to make much of a difference, but the numbers and lights look good.

AA or RAC membership card is quite useful.
 
I have a (hardwired in) 4-way ciggy lighter socket bar screwed in the top left corner, with the power supply for the cradle I use for my PDA and an iPod connector/charger. I also have an old AA card (new one in my wallet) just in case. Other than that I have the cable for my laptop to EMS and my LM-1 controller for my wideband which are both unique to me. No DME relay (no DME [;)]). I possibly should carry the relay that replaced the DME one in my setup I guess. My sunglasses go in there if I remember to take them out of the hearse.[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"]In the well behind the rear wheel I have a can of tyre inflation spray, the original tools and a bulb kit.[FONT=verdana,geneva"]
 
Tic Tac mints, aftershave, cd`s. The ashtray is really good for carpark change. Personally I relegate bulbs, relays etc to the boot. Insted of the tyre gauge I carry a calibrated digital tyre inflator also in the boot that works from the cigar lighter.
 
I always carry a few longish tie wraps for unseen breakages, a length of wire and a few crimp on connectors in a little box for making temporary electrical repairs, aswell as the usual spare DME relay and a box of bulbs.

They are in the little tool box I carry though. This has just a few sockets, a handle (of course), a few hex bits, a couple of screwdrivers, my wheel nut socket & nut security adapter. I also carry a can of tyre weld, a compressor, and a breaker bar (instead of a wheel brace). Oh, and the factory jack.
 
A small Maglight. Very usefull for a variety of activities given the dimness of the 944 cabin at night.

Check the wattage of your interior light bulb. You may find that it is less than that specified in the hand book. Mine used to be and it is now much brighter. [:)]

Have you got a chandelier in the X-Type ? I've got two in the Daimler [:D]

I keep a DME relay in baby WUF, but I'm in the same situation as Fen with WUF - no DME to worry about.

Actually I think he bought baby WUF to carry around all the remotes. If you look around the corner, or over hedges at any 944 meets you can see baby WUF parked up with Ricks chauffeur on standby.

You get into the Jag bodied Mondeo at night and need sun glasses. There are lights every where. I particularly like the foot well lights so that you can see what you trod in a smeared all over the carpet.
 
boost controller, dme relay, tie wraps, insulating tape (temp fix for hoses and diy beam adjusters), sunglasses, cd's. Tyre pressure and valve removal tool in arm rest (depth guage as well when I get it back from my brother). If you ever have to use the collapsable spare the valve removal tool is a must for reffiting it in the boot.

I draw your attention to paragraph two, second sentence. This will cover Tony's occasional 'vector tax' and the mechanical foibles that occur due to the fact that if a 944 was normal car it would have been recycled at least three times by now and has every damn right to stop in the p*ssing rain for a nap if it so wishes and not wake up until fanned with a very huge wedge of cash.

(if anyone has a spare Amex Black card, my 944 is currently having a very long nap. Again)
