Gmund Cars have an Open Day Sunday April 10 at their premises in Lingerfield near Knaresborough.

10 'til 4 pm they will be showing their stock of cars.

Buffet is available to those who book in advance, at a cost of £5 per head on 01423 797989.

Anybody else attending this event? If so anything planned drive before or afterwards and timing?

Thanks

Nigel

hi nigel, should be there about 1ish all being well. never been before, is it easy to find???

regards glenn....

Hi Martin,

I'd like to go to the Gmund open day on Sunday. I've not met any members from the Yorkshire area yet. Can you let me know where it is, I'll be coming from York. Cheers.

Hi Glenn,

I have been once before and used Sat Nav to find it then. (dont have that luxury this time!) From memory it is situated in a small warehouse estate on a back country road towards Lingerfield just passed Autoclassica (the other Porsche place). I would say you cant miss it but that's tempting fate!! I will try and post some better directions on here shortly.

Nigel

Directions

From A1 drive into Knaresborough A59 High Street, at the T juction take the road Right towards Boroughbridge A6055, look for the turning on your left Greengate lane, take it and follow it, it turns into Market Flat lane, which is a little country lane and Gmund should be on your left (I think, 2 miles out) on the industrial site.

Nigel

I've posted details from the West on the R18 forum if anyone needs them.

I will try and post some better directis on here shortly

thanks nigel, dont think even i can get lost with those directions......then again[:D]

barring torrential rain , i will b there for a peruse and natter[:)][:)][:)]

Great see you there Glenn (weather permitting, its just started snowing here in York). Myself and wife, Leigh will be there around 12pm to 1pm.

Nigel

Hi

Hope to make it as well.

Regards - Randolph

PS - anyone know a decent run out later in the afternoon ?

Randolph,

How long a run[:)]........

A ride to Helmsley and up onto Blakey Ridge would be mighty fine but you will not be home for 5pm!! Mail me this eve if you wish.

Wayne

Hi Wayne -

Sounds OK to me. I will be by myself tomorrow so no real time constraints.

See everyone tomorrow to discuss further.

Regards - Randolph

Well its a fantastic sunny day just right for a run out so John and I will be giving the car a run to Gmund instead of tackling the garden!

Will be there by 12 ish - looking forward to seeing everyone

Rita & John

I was going to suggest a loop from the A1 east to....

Sutton Bank, Helmsley and then to Kirby Moorside.
Take a left north just after Kirby Moorside via keldholme to Hutton le Hole
Rise up out to Hutton le Hole onto Blakey Ridge[;)] and go onto the moors
Stop at the Lion Pub for a drink, etc.

Then reverse the same way working back to the A1 or ... continue north and come back loping thru Stokesley and A19 to A1.

No idea how far this is but it looks like 1.5hr to pub max.

Is this any use to you randolph??

I wasn't actually going to Gmund but i'm trying to do some reorganising if people fancy a drive afterwards to join you.

Wayne

The sun was shining so I made it down today ( although later than expected due to me drilling straight through an electic cable at my house 1/2 hour before I was meant to leave [8|] [] )

Good see some familiar faces [:D]

Glenn, the 993 is superb & I love that exhaust system [:D]

Hi all, it was a beautiful day on Sunday. I made it to Gmund for my first Porsche Club outing but everyone had left by the time I found it. All the guys I met were really approachable, even if some of the technical talk went over my head. I hope to meet some of you another time.

Regards, Tracey

If you are at a loose end on Sunday 17th try to get to the OPC at sheffield ( next to meadowhall) and come to the tractor collection of peter bradley and a trip to ladybower dam. You will meet plenty from region7.
Everyone is meeting there at 10 , just dont follow me because i will go the rather scenic route i:e lost []

Regards,

Neil Eldred
