going away for a while, what's the best way to secure the 964?

As it pretty much says in the title, I'm off on hols in the not too distant future for about 3 weeks or thereabouts, and am wondering how best to secure the car.
I did think about removing R41 amongst other things making it undriveable, but wondered whether anyone else has a better suggestion.
She (the car that is) will be locked and alarmed, but i'm looking for better alternatives should some low life get a hold of the keys.....your suggestions therefore are most welcome.

Kevin.

Hi Kevin,
Here's some ideas for you; http://www.nononsenseselfdefense.com/burglarbusiness.html#security_devices

If you are concerned about someone getting the hold of the car keys. Don't leave them at home. At a push leave them in a security box at your bank ( I take it that banks still offer this service?)

Don't advertise on the internet that you are going away !!!

Have a good holiday.

Hi Ken,

Hope things are going well for you,

I'll leave the keys elsewhere, good tip, I know people that would keep them safe for me.

Bit of a job not advertising......still at least no-one knows when I'm going away...................................I think.

regards

Kevin

Take the DME relay on hols with you [:D] and when you return replace it with a 993 upgrade part
Take a wheel of and drop it in with the neighbours if you are that concerned

Is the car garaged or just left on your drive?

Either way I've fitted telescopic stainless poles just outside the garage doors. That way they cant even open the garage doors let alone take the car anywhere, also these effectively secures everything else in there. The posts could be place at the entrance to your drive if the cars left out.

Visit www.drivebar.com (I think)

Remove the whole DME unit (it takes only 10mins) and hide.

As yours is so special, anyone looking for when might perhaps trigger alarm bells amongst the specialists.... Easy to track down etc. I would not remove the DME relay as a priority, as they can be purchased cheaply.

Good luck

PS - you also might ask the neighbours to park their cars on your drive, so ensuring that the garage door can't be opened ! (It works for me)

Thanks all,

I've fitted some wooden gates to the drive, (which is only 20ft long lol) and will be making sure the garage door is securely as we say nailed down.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Well back again, after 3 weeks, and the best bit.............the 964 started first hit on the button, no problems what-so-ever....brilliant.
