Good bodyshop in R10?

Could any R10 members recommend a good bodyshop in our area (within 30 miles of Northampton)

I have the first tiny pinpricks of corrosion on one of my rear wings which I want addressed asap, and I might as well get the nose and wing mirrors tidied up at the same time. 15 years of stonechips have finally started bugging me [8|]

I was very badly burned by a Northampton bodyshop a few years ago so I want to use one that comes recommended, knows how to treat corrosion properly, and is able to match 15 year old paint.

Thanks

A little over the 30, but in West Luton, there is a place called Protek who have got the Porsche certificates for work. They did a cracking job on my BMW.

Cheers Pete. I'll wait for Mikes return.

I really do not want to go anywhere without a personal recommendation this time.

Some chap who works through Elite Motors in St James has just done a totally fantastic job on the front of my car, including sorting out an earlier less that brilliant job done elsewhere, without breaking the bank.

Thanks Mike. I have actually had a quote from them and a look around their premises at their work. Does seem impressive, so your comments are a nice backup

I have seen good results from Perrys.
You might want to ask Ken or Jeff for advice.

They can be a bit slow but their work is very good. They've done a fair bit on my car and I'm very happy with the work and the prices. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Paul

I'm a director at Perrys.

We have just moved our bodyshop in Aylesbury to new premises, all the equipment is brand new and state of the art. We are currently approved by Fiat, Seat, Vauxhall, Ford, Peogeot & BMW.

If you would like a quote for the work, speak with the manager John Mills, they are always keen to work on interesting cars, they have certainly done work on a few of my Porsches & Ferrari.

If your not 100% happy with the work, let me know.

Hi Paul and Ken, just had Perrys Aylesbury do my works Audi and I was not pleased, the car is just about to come off lease so the work was done on our insurance but if it was my money being spent I would be mucho freaked out.

Went down for scratches on the bootlid, dent in rear bumper and marks on front bumper, came back with more scratches on the bootlid, just in different places, the badges in the wrong place, one missing completely, and some of the the damage on the front bumper just painted over; no filler/primer, nothing - so now I have shallow 'gouges' under the paint, not great. Paint on rear bumper was fine though the trim around the bottom was not reattached properly - fixed it myself.

After 20 or so years in the motor trade I might just be a hard taskmaster but I have used some great bodyshops in the past & this was not one of those experiences.

Corrie up there is helpful over the phone but I can't afford the time to go back and have it sorted properly so have settled for some missing badges to be replaced when I get 5 minutes.

Sorry if this seems like airing dirty laundry in public but I have drawn a line under the job, it wasn't difficult and they could have got it right first time, that didn't happen. Like I said, I was okay with the response I got from the person there after the fact and they probably would have sorted it but that's not the point as far as I'm concerned, so in this instance I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend Aylesbury.

Anyway - if anyone else has any recommendations I need a door painting on my Volvo though that looks like it will end up going back to my guy in Evesham who is great, makes no fuss, always gets it right first time and is not too expensive IMO.

The only place I would recommend local to me and within 30 miles of you Paul is Tuthills, their paintwork is incredible. See Edward's car for details; it is mindblowingly good work.

Sorry Ken!

John

I'm really sorry to hear that we let you down.

Please let me have the registration number of your Audi and I will investigate.

My email address is ksavage@perrys.co.uk.
