Hi guys,

What brake setups are people using that is suitable for heavy track use? (but essentially doesn't squeal, so can be happily used on the road)

I've currently got stock discs with EBC Bluestuff, and whilst it stops the car and they hold up ok, they go soft after several laps (although still stop, might be lines) and the discs have picked up some pad deposit and the pads look glazed.

I've used RS29 Pagids on my M4 before which were great, but made a lot of noise on the road... Same might not necessarily be true for the Cayman setup though?

Any tips welcome!

Dump drilled discs and fit slotted design, I have cracking on fronts after 7 trackdays and total 4,200 miles so PFC discs going on. I'm using PFC pads 331 compound front and 332 rear.

Might be less of an issue if car is materially lighter than stock.

If you don’t want to got the route of ‘big disc‘ upgrades (ie Girodiscs) then I found the following fine for 5-6 enthusiastic track days a year and road use (ie no squealing and a manageable amount of brake dust on the wheels):

Front - sebro slotted discs + brembo HP 2000 pads

Rear - sebro slotted discs (if you can get them) + OE textar pads

+ braided hoses, motul RBF600 / 660 fluid and the best brake mod of all - fit the GT3 MBC (approx £100 online - try AUTODOC). Also fit the GT3 front brake cooling ducts. They’re about £5 each from Porsche.
