Good bye Boxster Forum

Have sold the Boxster.[&:]
Gone to a good home in north Notts.Really enjoyed the summer last years trip to Le Mans and tour after round France. Great car for camping - loads of room.
Am looking for everyday/track car which won't be affected by normal mileage use.
Fancy another 968CS but lots for sale and not selling. [8|]
May go for Audi TT Sport and squeeze it to 300brake with a couple of comfort seats for the day to day stuff.
Anyway thanks for all the help from everyone and may your RMS be dry and your water be clear !!

THX, it won't be the new TT. I'm looking at value for money with some genuine fun. The old TT had a sport version - like a CS - fixed Recaro's, rear brace, no rear seats, different suspension - same crap brakes just painted red but lots more fun to drive. They are appearing in the trade for around £16 to £18k now. So are 350Z's - an EVO favourite - car with a big heart and rear wheel drive.

As for the Cayman versus others - it should be better for that money. Talk about the emperorers new clothes.I don't think many of the journo's, or us,understand the pricing policy and Porsche are taking the pee with the Cayman.
Everybody else in the journo world, including that nutter Clarkson, rates the new TT but the 2.0t 2 wheel drive car.I read a lot of tests but tend to take EVO as the real test.

Would still like a 968CS but even buying a mint lowish mileage car will still result in big expentiture. They are still asking £10k and up to £15k for a 12 or 15 year old car with 60,70,and 90 odd k miles on. I think 968's have got to get to £10kish soon. There are 32 for sale on Pistonheads.
Another Boxster would be nice but with the trade guide not allowing for proper mileage use it just gets daft cost wise.

In my view, any road car is compromised on the track. If you can manage two cars, get a Golf diesel for the week and a Caterham/Ariel/Radical etc for the weekend. I had a corporate track day recently and pretty much everything I drove was a floppy blancmange when you pushed it - most cars set up for mild understeer and sufferring massive roll and spongy brakes - that plus the fact that you are constantly reminded of the torture you're putting your car through (even though it wasn't actually my money....).

I like your idea of a 350Z though - Evo do rave about them and they look lovely, and will never break down. Don't forget the Beemer 3 series coupe - every Tom Dick and Harry may have one, but they are an absolutely lovely drive. Just picked this one out of Autotrader:

It's the restricted milage use that Glass's applies to the Boxster which is the problem. See previous posts.
Glass's have just started showing the Cayenne with normal and lower milage.
When they do that for the Boxster I might consider it again.
Daps thats why they built the TT sport - like the 968 CS, BM M3 CS etc. I also don't do over book milage now as I used to. Thrashing my own car - never been a problem[:D] I tend to over service them.
