Good Deal?

Hi,

I have just been talking to a salesman at OPC Leicester for the following car:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/964023.htm

I didn't like the wheels and suggested they put a new set of Sport Design Wheels on there with all new tyres, and reduce the price to £45k

Is this a good deal or still too much money?

Also, I'm a bit reticent about the red leather, although the contrast from the exterior colour does look good and the seat backs are silver (being sports seats)

...there is also this completely different but tempting C4S Cab for £14k less!

Not sure if its a good deal or not but if you plan to keep the car for a long time I would not worry about the red leather. If you change your cars every 2/3 years you may limit your market by choosing red. But whos to say it wont be like white cars were last year.

A quick look at Porsche used car locator shows 5 other 997S cabs between £43K and £46K, 3 of which have comparable mileage. I am sure Autotrader will turn up many 997S cabs from independent dealers or private sellers below £40K (but I am sure you knew that). The two cars you have identified are so different, OPC vs private, 997 vs 996, 3.8 vs 3.6, manual vs tip, 2wd vs 4wd, that only you can decide on what you think is good value compared to the alternative cars available that meet your needs.

Well I was specifically looking for a 997 C2S Cab with Sport Design Wheels, Sports exhaust and heated sports seats. (with Nav and phone module) ...and it has to be black and under 23k miles. It is surprisingly difficult actually, and I'm surprised at this. I've only found a handful and they are all over budget [:(] Surely £45k can get me the above but I haven't come across one yet...... As to the one I linked to above.....I won't be going for it as red leather is a real marmite colour and alot of people in the office have called it 'tacky' or 'orangy'! I would be limiting resale value too.......

Hi Rodney, That sounds absolutely perfect yes, but it sounds like it's going to be over my budget of £45/46k no? By all means you can forward me his email address. Thank you
