Hi Nick,
Sorry ,no-one's replied yet from around here-I live in Freshfield just south of Southport-the reason possibly is the fact that around here, the land is rather flat & not endowed with a superfluity of ideal "porsche " driving type roads-there are quite a few villages on the back roads with the odd Gatzo to calm you down & with an elderly population, too many Yaris type drivers.
There are several nice drives but not for fast driving as such.
Suggest-End of Formby by-pass along coast road-then take the Banks Road to Tarleton-TL at the lights back onto the A59 upto the next R/about TR onto the B5747 to Croston then right onto A581 back to the A59 South past Rufford Old Hall(NT property worth visiting) then the B5246 down to Parbold,TL upto top of Parbold Hill, then meander back to Southport via the A5209 & A570.
Nothing dramatic but pretty villages ,the odd canal & bendy narrow roads.
I am sure there are other routes.
Incidentally, we frequently go the IOM-we have a cottage in Laxey.
Cheers,
Colin.

Sorry, mon amis-I didn't expect my eloquent missive to be read in depth by superfluous missionaries.[:D]...dong ding!!!

Have a word with dean...he seems to be able to recreate the nurburgring round longton....! [:D][;)]

Longton is adjacent to Hutton.

You can't go posting where all the best roads are on the Internet or the speed camera bans will visit them more frequently!!!
