Good meeting this evening, if a little dry, & great to see so many new faces along.

Here's looking forward to an entertaining 2004, and hoping to see a few more members on the forum.

John

I hope you mean well supported not "good" as I intend to be at many more and I hope we'll have many more involving ones!!

These sort of meetings are needed, but if we get the members onto the web we could load it four weeks ahead and summarise the comments made. Then next year we can discuss the options rather than spend so long discussing if we have any!!

Still they always say the first time isn't the best!!

Cheers.

Nigel

PS. The old girl sailed the MOT today!

You got it in one Nigel.

If you weren't put off by Tuesday you should thoroughly enjoy the rest of the year. You wait till the light evenings come along, we've had the thick end of 30 Porsches in the car park before now.

Martyn does a great job in getting speakers along for the evening with Pirrelli, Garmin and Incero polish in the past, not to mention evenings hosted by members on oil technollogy and classic rallying to name but two. More polish next month, and from memory, Road Angle for March.

I agree that, with more people using the forum, we could quickly knock the administration chores into touch leaving us more time to kick tyres, open bonnets and generaly get in amoungst the cars. I have little doubt that, as more people do get invollved via the web, the effect will spread.

Glad to hear that your car got through its MOT, can't wait to pick up mine tomorrow after an extensive suspension up grade.

So Simo whats the real angle of a road then?

Just uprated my anti roll bars so, hopefully, significantly less than previously. [;)]

I meant Road Angel...obviously. You can't expect me to spell, I'm a joiner.

Just a note to say hi and thanks for Tuesday night - well worth the trip from sunny Southend. Looking forward to next month talk on waxing !

Looking forward to next month talk on waxing !

Little tip: Don't let the use your car to demonstrate their polish on. If you do, you get one panel, or part of one panel, looking imacculate and then have to buy the polish to get the rest of the car looking the same. [;)]

Sorry to dissapoint U guys, next meet is not waxing as such.....'Waxfantastic' is a cloth impregnated (I do like that word) with a silicone based wax for tarting up, I have used it & it is a great product for such things as a quick clean after arriving at a display; the company also do other chemical products for cars....antifreeze/wash bottle additives. Company was formed as a management buy-out from part of Shell chemicals & as a new company they are keen to get market exposure via car clubs.......hopefully a few freebies may be included !

I prefer a "wet wipe" myself, I'm surprised you don't have problems with the silicone clogging your pores.

Yeah but I prefer the slickness of silicone...reduces the drag co-efficient in the contact patch, if you get my drift! [8D]

On a more thoughtfull note, which we will have to ask at the meeting no doubt:-

If you wipe your waxed car over with silicone, doesn't this then put a silcone film on the surface which means the next time you wax your car the wax whon't stick?

I know you could suggest using a cleaner to remove the silicone, but anything that agressive is also going to remove the wax. I just wash mine with hot water and dry it off - just like the nice man from Incero said - and for a 15 year old car it seems to do the job.

Ah, Simo........the thinking mans waxer! [8D]

Hadn't thought of this but there again having only washed cars a handful of times in my life and never using wax, why would I? Wives and willing children (they always need a bob or two) are my usual methods ! []
