Good old 944

Just thought I'd put up a wee post appreciating my good old 944!

I got a modern reliable Subaru Legacy Spec B 18 months or so ago with a view to possibly selling the Porsche. I did almost sell the Porsche in fact, but glad I didn't. Legacy has been a fair bit of trouble (new front shocks, new battery, various electrical gremlins, stuck brake calliper, now a noise that I think may be diff related) - and yet the 944 sails on with just routine maintenance! I went to move it after 3 weeks being parked up outside my parents-in-law's house and it started first time! And the 944 is more fun to drive. Though the Legacy does carry a lot more stuff...

(Sod's law states that I've now jinxed the Porsche, and it will fall to pieces next time I come to use it!)

Go outside and pat your 944s now! Maybe a gentle stroke and caress if appropriate...

or a good old thrashing [once warm[:)]] down the local motorway or big A road lol,,,within limits of course[;)]

I'm the same, I got a brand new BMW 335d last year and recently used the 944 for the first time in nearly 3 weeks.

It's nowhere near as quick as the BMW but it made me smile. I ended up feeling bad for not using it enough and took it on a longer trip the next day!

I've always wanted a 996 but can't help worrying about buying a car with possible problems when the S2 never gives me any trouble.
