Good suspension specialists?

Anyone know of a good place in the UK to have my suspension upgraded?

I wanted to use Parr but they are trying to charge me over £1400 for just fitting some Bilsteins!! [] [] []

That is insane given the same job in the US costs guys there $600 (about £300).

£1400 is about 12 hours worth of work going by even OPC top labour rates. No way does it take that long to switch out dampeners.

I don't mind paying top rates for a top job - but I strongly object to being blatantly ripped off.

So would appreciate any recommendations - especially fitters that have the equipment and expertise to do a corner balance after the fitting [8|]

Alex,
Ask if the fitting includes 4 wheel chassis alignment, which I think is essential following a suspension change.
Regards,
Clive

Alex, although not in your area, Chris at Centre Gravity is where mine is going for Geo adjustment, set for road use similar as yourself..
Suspension is all Chris really does, idea on costs however I have none.

He does the full service of corner weights and the likes.

Just out of interest, are you talking about replacing PASM on a 997 or the standard suspension? If PASM do you worry this will make the car harder to sell?

I had to replace the suspension on my last 997 (long story, only done 30k miles and they were starting to feel wallowy - got a deal from the OPC since I'd not had the car long but still cost £1000) and considered at the time a better quality aftermarket item.

Cheers

This is what I want:

And I don't care about resale as I am building my perfect 911 Turbo here, so it's for my benefits and nobody elses [:)]

Bilstein dampeners go with PASM and do not replace it.

Alex, as mentioned earlier I'd also recommend Chris at COG. He really knows his suspension , is a real enthusiast and did a great job of improving my GT3 for fast road driving - which wasn't bad in the first place.
When I was with him a couple of months ago, he mentioned he was looking for a few people to try out some new fancy shocks for evaluation, not sure if that's still on offer though.
Good luck.

I see what you mean!! Certainly makes a convincing argument for modding - and might be easier than saving up for a GT3!!

Oakley design have had some very good reviews about their suspension upgrade for the Gt3 , they also offer a sequential lever shift.
