Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Just spent 4 days up in North Yorkshire

The Good - Glorious weather, great roads, not too much traffic. The road to Ribble Valley Viaduct was just glorious and was pretty much empty when I drove it - Fantastic

The Bad - Groups of caravans, hard to pass several together on short straights with bikes about. There were also some un-surfaced stretches of roads that had just been left, no one was working on them.

The Ugly - I got a present for my stay in North Yorkshire, a 12 inch scour on the driver side door from a screw driver or similar. Parked overnight in a square in a North Yorkshire village. Police weren't interested.

Any one else had some good drives out recently?

[:(]Sorry to hear about the door Tom, that's really really terrible. It's what we all worry about whenever we leave them, and as Geoff says some mindless, jealous toerag has done that.

I hope it get's well repaired, just makesure you don't go in for the door and come out with the full aerokit ![;)]

Sorry to see that you suffered something similar to what happened to me in Snettisham.

Go to the police - report it as a crime, ask them to check CCTV nearby covering the time of the incident and keep on at them!

3 of us got done in Masham - The hotel owners Merc, a TVR and mine. Been going there 15 years. All sorts of exotic metal parked there and no one touched them. The hotel owner was shocked as he said he'd never heard of it happening there, he'd been there 11 years.

Bad news is as its not part of the socialist state there was no CCTV. The hotel owner spoke to the Police on all three of our behalf and they basically said unless we were sure we could identify the ****er there was nothing they could/would do". The penalty for being in such an isolated spot.

Do not leave it for the hotel to look after your interests.

Make a formal crime complaint and ask the police to investigate including looking for any local CCTV and any persons who have any record of criminal damage of this sort.

Did you have to pay to park? If so, was it in an enclosed area? Any signs to indicate whether there is any CCTV etc?

Thanks for the advice - the problem we had was that there is no cctv in the square - there is only 1 in the whole town and that is facing a Pub. We also talked around to various groups that were about and could not find any witnesses. All we know is that it happened between 2am and 7am. All the locals winged that the Police don't come out there for anything - including a knife fight earlier in the summer when they finally sent some one 4 days after it was reported.......

Still your right - here goes lots of unpopular phone calls.......

Sorry to hear that Tom [:(]

On the upside, yoo could get the rear spoiler done at the same time [:)] trying to think positive....[;)]

You could chase the Police all day and nothing will come of it, I'd save my breath and get on with life.. and a respray [:(]

I was in Yorkshire over the weekend, lovely weather but sadly I was working...
I did go to 'Magna' which was reasonably interesting- at the price!!

Thanks, will look to see if I can fix both scratches in one hit[&:], or get that shiny new aerokit...... hmmmmm[:)]

Police weren't interested unless we could guarantee to identify the perpetrator, felt like it was my fault for having something worth vandalizing.

Whats magna when its at home, I am guessing some kind of music festival (I must be getting old)
