Good tyre prices in Kent.

Someone posted a tyre fitting concern that did all for corners for what seemed like a really good price and they were situated in Kent somewhere. I have done a search and I am blowed if I can find it again. Any pointers from you Kentish chaps(and girls of course) would be appreciated

Just had my car back from my local indy after a radiator let go and I got the news that all four tyres need replacing. Which is annoying really as the fronts have only had 10K on them. I knew the rears were low as they had done 10K as they all got done together. I questioned the fact the front should go a 2.1 ratio of wear and that I was surprised this had happened. I was told that the tracking and geometry should be checked frequently - does anyone do that and if so at what intervals?

On a slightly different tack I ask them to supply me with caliper bolts for a four corner disc swop I plan to do soon and to my surprise they admitted to not replacing caliper bolts when they carry out the disc replacement. Am I right in thinking that Porsche recommend changing? If they do seems to me that this is an indicator when trying to judge whether to go OPC or Indy - you choose!

Cheers Diesel,

I think the post I was looking for sort of laid down a challenge to beat the price and I don't remember anyone beating it. But thanks for the heads up, I will save the info.

Is yours a C4, because they will wear fronts quicker than the C2. I reckon 1 set of fronts to two sets of rears is what I will get from the P-Zero Rossos. I would say that a full alignment check every two years is about right, depending on mileage, and how often you go off-roading.

The manual says to change the caliper bolts, but I doubt if many indies do. Personally I don't think it is all together necessary as they aren't stretch bolts, they are in shear (not tension) and the torque is quite low. If the threads or heads were damaged, that's a different matter. Of course, it gives the workshop (OPC or Indy) something else to charge for.

Yes Richard it is a C4 however I have had the car 3 years now and I was getting double the wear on the fronts as the back. I had new tyres all round when I got the car and replaced the front last year with Rossos (Assywhateveraco's on the arse) repalced a year before. So I kind assumed the 2.1 ratio was about right) This year I thought I would swop the rears for Rossos but found that the fronts had worn.

Now heres the rub, I had all the tracking and geometry done last year. which saw only 10k wear on the fronts instead of 20k as per the two years previous.

I do 10K a year of mixed motoring (Mways and A roads)
