Good morning early 911 fans , I have posted a longer report on DDK to reach a wider audience , there were 3 early cars running at this event. A 2 litre early 911 , a 2.7 litre RSR rep based on a 73T , my 2.4 litre '69 E.
The weather was pretty awful in the morning especially driving out from London on the A3 , not ideal conditions for misting up or boosting track day confidence.

The car ran well , and unlike the PCGB trackday back on 27 April turned out to be comparatively quick , especially in the wet with Avon CR6ZZs fitted. The Ford Mustang was more of a handful in the conditions.....

The track dried out in the afternoon. I then had an epic session in a 5 car group that included following the D type Jaguar , we were both lapping at similar pace and it was incredible to hear and see the D type , chasing it round the in-period Goodwood circuit. The good news , it finally moved over for me on the Lavant straight , the bad news - I did not have spycam switched on. DUH! Max speed witnessed by passenger was 120mph , brakes would not allow any more straight to be used.

Finally , 1965 911 racecar in ivory , had a ride in it , short ratio 901 gearbox was in constant action....big contrast to the other ride I had in a 1955 Healey that went round comfortably only using 4th gear [8|]
