Hi Can any one advise me on this event. I am shown as attending ,but cannot find any details of times etc and if I should have completed any forms or need a pass etc. I am sure that I was only asked to state my interest..
Any help welcome.
Peter

Hi Chris Thanks for the prompt reply . I will look out for the promised info.
Regards
Peter

Ah the take over of our 968 meet, we have decided that we will no longer attend this, as PCGB has taken it over, what was a friendly GTG has now become an official event,

shame it has been spoilt

Peter, it's simple - just turn up, drive in the main entrance to the motor racing circuit and turn left. As above, 968's will be thin on the ground this year, we'll be elsewhere.

A word of advice - plan you route in so you avoid the entrances to the horse race course car parks, it's the last day of Glorious Goodwood so that route is one long traffic jam.

It's because PCGB are too lazy to sort it for themselves so they just over run others days out, then call it the transactor day, next year it will be all the rear engine lot and the transaxles will need to find a new day out

Then it will just die off same as the forums, no input no adverts for events.

Let's not forget this is actually a Brighton and Hove District Motor Club sprint day, who originally (5 years ago) invited the 968 Register to attend. Years 1-3 quite a few 968's turned up, some PCGB members, some joint PCGB/968uk members, but the majority from 968uk. Year 4, last year, PCGB got involved, added 2 Porsche sprint races to the day's program and made it "Transaxle Day" rather than 968 Register. I have attended 3 of the 4, including last year, and in common with many 968 owners decided that we would, at their invite, attend the B&HDMC May sprint meeting and go elsewhere 4th August. I have no interest in 924's, 928's or 944's (having owned a 944 lux and 944S before my 968 coupe), and have previous very poor experience of PCGB FE special days, so would rather have a day out with other 968 owners.

Peter, It's a great day out. I went for the first time last year having not heard anything about it before (and owning a 944 rather than a 968) I just turned up early to avoid traffic. Really informal day with lots of time trial racing going on. Not sure I'll make this year since I've got ECU gremlins at the moment, but if it's working, I'll be there. I might even be tempted to turn up in the dreaded rear engine one instead!

There is one this coming Saturday and I'm planning to go. Martin, I'm very sorry to hear you are boycotting it - I'll miss seeing you!

Anyone else from here going? Care to meet en route and go in a convoy?

Morning everyone,

Around 50 cars now expected for Saturday. A further note from the Club with final instructions will be emailed this week.

Shaping up to be a good day.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Martin,

Of course, more than happy to publish the information here so those who haven't pre-registered can also participate.

My colleague, George Woodward, will be on-hand to meet and greet.

Thanks,

Chris

Pre-registered? How do I pre-register?

And I don't think I have ever seen an eMail from PCGB about this - or anything else.

Anyone able to help?

Thanks,

Oli.

Paul,

Thanks for the link. You are right - I didn't hunt for the information in part because I wasn't expecting there to be any; last year it was a case of turn up and take part, no need for pre-registration or anything like that.

I'll be there. Anyone up for a convoy?

Oli.

Well, if I do go along this year it'll have to be ion the 996 and be ridiculed by all the transaxle owners since my no-start issue continues... :-(
I'll be heading down from Farnham Surrey...

Details for tomorrow.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at Goodwood Motor Circuit (PO18 0PX) this coming Saturday for an informal gathering of transaxle models. Porsches are expected to arrive from 9am onwards and the event usually concludes by 2pm.

Upon arriving at the circuit, please take the very first left, then turn left. A parking marshal will be on site to help direct you. This event coincides with a round of the Porsche Club Speed Championship, who will be competing on track throughout the day.

We hope you enjoy your day and look forward to seeing you.

Hmmm. I'm coming from Lahndahn Tahn and will probably be heading down the M23. Meeting up for a convoy doesn't make that much sense given the geography, but I'm happy to do so if you wish.

My number is o7879 82o967 if you want to call or text me.
