Gordon Brown needs a kick in the B**ls

I have just been to tax one of my cars today, nothing major just a normal price of £185 for 12 months. The person in front of me taxed their car for 12 moths and it cost them £35, yes £35 for the whole year and next year it will be £20.

Are they using less road then me ??? I think not. This is just unfair to other drivers and I know some of you will come back with the "but its a smaller car with less emissions" well sorry but it still takes up the same amount of road, if it is based on the emissions test (which are airbourne) then maybe they should have flying tax levied too.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I need to run for government then I would change this whole country for the better. starting with petrol and road tax.

Simple answer...

To get your money's worth use your car at least FIVE TIMES MORE than the person who paid just £35.

[:)]

I actually did laugh out loud at that :)

On a lighter note does anyone know how Porsche are getting with suing London council ?

ps. Very funny lol[:D]

I actually agree with you you Jamirrirquai, as I feel that the tax increase on say 4 x 4's should have been increased from now, buying new cars, not penalise people that already have them. Look at some pensioners ( not talking about you Brian [8D]) that maybe have a 4x4 to tow a caravan and now they have to pay more on tax.

Did I make any sense there? [:D]

Anyway, what do I know, I drive a TVR [8|]

They dropped the action when Uncle Boris cancelled the change in Congestion Charge based on emissions.

I'll pensioner you [:D][:D] I already pay £400 a year for the Boxster and even more next year I agree it should have been introduced on all new purchases from 2009 so you had a choice ,

Thanks for that,

Do you think that we as drivers could actually stop this blatant rip off from happening ?

I mean if we all refuse to pay or even lobby the European court surely we could have a greater say in the running of the people we chose to run the country ?

Seriously, how can I run for parliament ?????????????

Yes that is what I was trying to say, in my roundabout way, it should be on new purchases so you had the choice.

Oh and the pensioner bit was for slagging me off about my age earlier [8D]

I still love you though Brian, even though you have a bus pass [;)]

Well you appear literate, honest, competent and to have a social conscience - you clearly have no chance in this clown's government.

Besides anyone who wants to be a politician shouldn't be allowed to be.

I would usually totally agree, but for the first time ever I really want to be able to shove it up the overpaid toffs that run this country and maybe just maybe make life better for everyone lol.

But tomorrow I may just want to be a fireman [:D]

Overpaid definitely - toffs , well I suspect not. John Prescott, Hazel Blears, Michael Martin and our beloved Mr Brown ( sarcasm ) are not my idea of toffs though they clearly live the life style at our expense.

Go for it you could do no worse.

Welcome to "rip-off Britain". There are many reasons why around 30000 people emigrate from the UK each year, but I'm sure this Government's stance on taxation is one of the leading ones.

I know all about the tax man lol

Definitely agree with not penalising people who already have these cars, why not set it a couple of years down the line then people can decide when they come to renew their cars, instead of wiping thousands of pounds off the value of vehicles people already own .

Thanks for that idea.

My 911 is a four wheel drive vevicle and it already costs me £400.00 per year [&:]

I meant if they were going to increase the tax, do it on new cars so people have a choice, not on cars that people have already bought, maybe the way I put it sorry[&:]

There must be as many reasons for most of us staying. [8D]

What are you talking about. The weather in Scotland is amazing, I love the natural blue of the locals and the rain peeled skin.

When the sun comes out I love the deep set red burns on the Scotch ginger folks.

Its what makes the Scotch people optimistic about everything from sports to club wear.
