Got a early 90's clifford alarm on my 91 964 C2 but it seems to not have the brain that it's suppose too, just a box with 2 black cables that come from the valet switch.

The problem is that it locked me out after changing the stereo and have tried to reset it in many ways like other alarms or posts.

It has clifford stickers and a valet switch but thats a much as I know.

It uses the horn on my 911 for a siren and seems to cut off when main battery is off, but starts ranting as soon as the battery is back on.

Also it has a key fob which is black with two blueish arrow buttons pointing outwards and the led is red at the top.

I also found whislt under the dash a red button but god only knows what this is for.

I also have a Porsche Cat 2 keyed immobiliser on the stalk, but the alarm is the one not letting it start I reckon.

Also when it is finishing ranting for 30 seconds with hazards they keep flashing for about 5 minutes which is weird in my book, never seen this.

I've looked for inline fuses and all parts of the car have been stripped but can't find a brain anywhere and theres not much hiding in the 911 as the underdash is open to see.

anyone any clues?

Thanks all for reading
Paul

Hi Paul,

This is a long shot but have you tried removing the glovebox to see if it is hidden behind there that is where mine was on my 944 or maybe under the pax seat where main car brain is. See if you can browse the web and get some idea of the size of box you are looking for if its really small it might be under your centre console.

My friend is a car alarm engineer if you pass on the alarm model number to me I might be able to get an idea from him as to what your looking for and where it might be, he found the one on my 944.

Hope this helps

Hi Paul

Have you checked under the passenger seat near the DME relay??

I think this is where mine is, but it sounds like a newer model.

Seems like the seats have to come out and think it's under the drivers seat on my model....the story so far....

Sorry boys, turns out the clifford stickers were a red herring. It appears to have a valet switch but it is using the factory alarm and they have added a Gemini GT 68 switching unit and hardwired it into it, my car is still going no where are my autoguy is still working on it!! This better be ready for my weekend drive out!!
So far the story is that he can lock and unlock the car from inside withoiut the alarm going off, but if he uses the key he can lock it and set the alrm but it won't unlock and turn off the alarm from outside using the key or the fobs. It ain't the fob batteries as they have all been replaced.
I looked for the clifford brain and couldn't find it....no wonder cos it's not there!!
Anyone any ideas?
