BTW: I noticed that the dashboard light is not very bright, even with the dimmer control turned up full. Is this normal?
I sense we have a new regular in the making here, lads .... !
('Tis a common problem. Search is your friend, but the answer is that the silver reflective coating on the prisms in the illumination system will have lost it's shineyness, and you need either some new prisms or a spangly LED conversion kit. When you get the wallet out to pay for aforementioned spangly conversion kit, don't be in a rush to put it away again ... you may find you are using it quite frequently ... [

Ooooh - he's had it less than a day and he's already asking about dim dashboard lighting!

Hehehe - I'll have a search. Think I saw an LED conversion on Pelican Parts, but thought it was just some bling! [

is that a Porsche Club sticker in the corner of the windscreen? if so, a good sign
Yeah. The car came from a PCGB member in Region 17 (David Land). He also has a 356, 968 and a GT3.

Check your records to see when the gearbox oil was last changed. It should be every 4 years but it's one of those things that is often overlooked and it's my personal theory is the reason a lot of cars have so called noisy boxes.

My car has a PCGB sticker from a previous owner. Is there a way to find when it was registered? Do the register keep info about the cars or is it just to get club benefits.( I am trying to put together a history of ownership/mileage/work done on my car)
Thanks Steve
Steve - my S2's previous owner left his name and number with the dealer I bought the car from. He told the dealer he was happy to take calls from prospective buyers. I called David, who is a really nice chap and a total Porsche enthusiast. He had already compiled a lot of the background. I have an A4 folder (the PCGB owners file) with receipts etc, going back to the original owner (I am now the 6th owner). David told me the best way to get history is to just to call everyone connected with the car and get more contacts to call, and then call them and.... so on... It's nice too know everything about the car's life and makes for an interesting evening's read [
Also, the owners manual is now fully populated with the names and address of all previous owners. I intend to continue the paperwork tradition for G247 ABW.
