Got my arse kicked by A RS6!!!!

Had a chance to test the legs on the 964 against a Audi RS6 yesterday.

They are quick as hell, it just pulled away from me even though I hit the rev limiter in 3 gears.

Now this thing could take 2 adults, 2 kids, a dog and all your luggage for a week away and is quicker than the 911, makes you think!!

Good job it wasn't an E55 estate with 7 people and a dog. 500 BHP whilst sitting in air conditioned massaging seats. Madness

in a straight line, probably the Audi driver 'cos he whupped 911 ass [:D]

he probably stopped smiling at the first country road/petrol station he had to stop at with 12mpg/trade in time when he loses ££££/track day when his brakes fade :ROFLMAO:

not bad as an everyday hack though if you can afford it, although I would take the E55 over the Audi

Lucky for you it wasn't hissing down because you wouldn't have had time to read the RS6 logo if that was the case. Top build quality. Brakes to shame a lot of Porkers. 911 drivers would have to work hard to lose an RS6 with a decent driver behind the wheel. Down side is the engine drinks fuel like it's going out of fashion.

I'm glad they suck juice bad as i was thinking I bet he gets 30+ miles per gallon as well.

As to who was smilling, he was of course. He had just kicked Porsche arse right up the up the A605.

And the twisty bits? I should imagine he would be as quick as that thing has Audi 4wheel drive to boot.

In the long term I like my 964 (a lot, in fact a little too much!) but going on holiday for a few days, in April, would be a lot of fun in one of them Audi bad boys. Going in the 964 will be fun but with a lot less luggage, somthing the other half is not so happy about! LOL but she loves the 964 too - cool.

Well, it seems that you have a choice - luggage or other half.
I don't consider changing the 964 an option (even though I run a 3.2).

Money no object you would have to consider an RS6 as a family car.

Actually, it would probably end in divorce. I can just imagine the arguments over who got to drive & if I won, the ear ache that would follow from the missus for driving too fast.

John,

I wouldn't worry about having the RS6 out drag you, if you guys carried on driving until 2008 (with petrol stops of cause) you would be the one with the great big grin on your face as his car would have lost all its value, drunk double the fuel, eaten more tyres and most importantly look so dated that Time Team would have to be called in to identify it's origins!!!

... whereas your 911..... I rest my case.

Fellow 964 driver, a car with soul!

John, it would be the other half every time. 1 She looks a lot better in the passenger seat than a suit case. 2 She shares the driving on a long trip. 3 clean shirts I can buy when i get there and 4 I took a long time to find both the 964 and the other half they are both beautiful, I will stop now.

Andy

RS6 as a family hack, what a great idea mate but in that money no object world. We can but dream.

maybe a roofrack or tow bar for a small 2 wheel trailer would suit madams suitcase requirements..[:D][:D] does not affect the aesthethics or the handling...
