Well Just got my 964 Cab back after a few weeks at Hillcrest,

She failed her MOT [8|] a Rear Reversing light Bulb had gone (I had not noticed [:D]) & a Rubber washer to do with a return valve for the screen wash system[8D] not bad as I think the bill was under a fiver for that lot[:)]

Routine service carried out, I was getting some squealing from the rear breaks as the seals in the calliper pistons have gone so they were manufactured by a contact of Simon's & replaced lets see if that cures it it only happened under very light breaking cost was £50 quid for the seals to be made.

Now the roof, it was working but not 100% occasionally it would get to almost closure & stop, this was due to the control unit having a fault & one of the roof gears having sheared a tooth, so it was all replaced, you can only buy the roof gears in pairs at £550 quid each[&:] then the control unit another £300 odd pounds and I had a faulty window control unit apparently the windows close when I make the roof close as it had full closure with a alarm unit it had, I new the roof closed from the key fob but did not realise the windows shut as well so I now have a roof & windows that close from the key fob.

Total spend GULP £2290 & some pence[:(] but I have to say it was worth it, she feels like new again and everything is working as they should & god is she fast[:D]

Didn't know reversing lights were part of the MOT, mine have never been checked on any car I have taken for an MOT????????

Jagman sorry I should have been more specific, it was a short when the brake light were hit the R-light went out or when the reversing light was on the back or brake light went out, one of those but it was do do with the reversing light bulb shorting or bad earth[:D]

However if they are then fitted with a manual switch (i.e. old vehicles not fitted previously) they must have a closed circuit tell-tale system (i.e. warning light).

Cheers
