Got "THE" book WOO HOO

Got mine this morning - really interesting stuff and some hints on some DIY I might now have confidence to tackle.
Thanks Richard for the autograph - I will not put it on ebay just yet !

Got mine too, excellent service! Thanks for using the photo of our radio, Richard.

Me too. Of course the first thing I did was look for the photos I provided - how sad ...

Excellent book though. Well done Richard.

A nicely put together book. However...

I have an addendum for you Richard:

You missed out Atlas Grey Metallic - paint code LM7X

I'm fairly sure it was only offered on MY04 onwards as it was really a 997 colour. It is pretty rare to see it on the 996.

Yes Nick, an epic fail!! [:D]

It's been bugging me too, ever since you noted it here. I had looked up the paint codes in the workshop manual for the 2004 Carrera to compile the list. However, when I looked up the MY2005 colours, I found a total of four, which were available for MY2004, but unlisted on the MY2004 charts.

M7X Atlas Grey
M3W Carmona Red
M7Z GT Silver
1C1 Fayence Yellow

I've attached the revised list for any uber-anoraks like me, and it is something to add to the 2nd Edition!

I've seen a couple of Atlas Grey 996's (yours included), but I've never seen a Carmona Red or Fayence Yellow car.

And I didn't find the code for the special Dark Olive Metallic of the MY2005 Turbo S either..........

I also have a 996 GT3 thats in Atlas Grey Met its a 2004 54 reg.
Was this a standard Met Paint or a Special order in 2004.
Paint code is LM 7X also.under the bonnet.
But on my Certificate of Athenticity the Code came up as E7E7 for Atlas Grey.
Cliff.

Atlas was a standard option on the MY04 onward GT3. I've never had a problem matching the paint by quoting LM7X. I was once told that only 8 Atlas Grey 996 GT3s were imported into the UK.

Don't feel bad Richard. It's such a minor omission which pales into total insignificance in comparison to the rest of the valuable information you provide. [:D]

The paint colours on CofA's aren't the paint codes, they are the colour codes used on the vehicle orders.

No matter! Found it by further browsing. Have ordered it. Written by Richard, it is bound to be superb!

As you were...
