Grazed Wheels

Hi everyone - after 3 months of careful ownership I have just grazed the wheels in my 991 GTS on a car park mini kerb that I didn’t see - they are black and it sticks out like a sore thumb. Any recommendations for refurbishment - they are also centrelocks to add to the irritation - I am based near Bracknell.

touch it in with some black coloured lacquer and learn to live with the self loathing - you will, however hard you try do it again and you will also notice if you have one wheel done, and (if you are like me on the daily, you will kerb the thing on the way home for the 1st time ever). Save it up for the "all 4 wheels" refurb down the line.

That said.....

Cant help with a recommendation but a good mobile guy can make it better, but likely not perfect in my experience.

Also - consider most "refurb places" are on industrial units and they will jack your car up, stick it on randomly placed axle stands at best or bricks at worst - and leave it outside for a few days while its being done...... how much stress do you want vs the current "injury"

Of course - there are exceptions.... but .....

Although I can’t give them a recommendation, you could try EXEL. They come to you, and fit OE wheels while yours are being refurbished.

I thought that exel wheels had ceased trading.

Their Facebook page doesn’t seem to have had any updates for a couple of years.

Thanks everyone - if I do get it repaired I'll keep you posted. As someone said time is a pretty good healer and I have a history of dinging wheels on previous non-porsches. Seems nothing has changed!

Yes, on further investigation that appears to be the case. Rather odd that the website is still in place though.🤔

It seems that he used Lepsons for the refurbishment - with his oversight on quality - and provided the additional services, including tyres.
