Greatest drive ever

Hello all,
I know it's a bit far for you to try, but the UAE owners club isn't too good and I had to tell someone! Drove the road on the attached image last night, had to drive 150km's either way to drive it, but boy, it was worth it. 12km top to bottom, it rises about 1200m in 60 perfectly tarmac'd turns, all 2nd and 3rd gear and was clearly invented for a 987 Boxster S! It was even more impressive on the way down, do these brakes ever fade? Streaks of varying colours all over the barriers suggest other manufacturers brakes are not of the same standard.
Image of what it looked like at night in next post

Regards,
Steve

I did it in just over an hour.
There's a hotel at the top also, think I'll stay next time and spend all day getting dizzy.
I KNEW there was some reason I should have spec'd the chrono kit!

Nice find, Steve. Is the Sheik still in his palace? I guess he might have got fed up with being thrown around the limo everytime he went to the shops...! [:D]

Steve UAE
I believe this is at Al Ain on the road to Sohar in the Oman? In my brief visits to the UAE I think the scrapes of paint on the side armco or central reservation tend to be the result of overloaded and undermaintained vehicles driven by the local itenerent workforce who suffer brake fade and other mechanical or driver related problems on the downhill slopes and bounce from one side of the road to the other.
Good thing there are no camels wandering in your way, but what about the odd few goats??
Peter
