Gremlin!

Hi Guys,
Looking for some advice on a tiny "Gremlin". He comes out to play when I lock the car doors. The blighter makes a sound like the doors either opening or locking. The timing of his appearance is slightly erratic but generally he comes out to annoy in multiples of 15 seconds, sometimes it can be 60 seconds or sometimes even 30 seconds.
Giving the sound more thought it does sound like the front boot unlocking. He is driving me mad and when I find him it is my intention to beat him to death. What effect he is having on the battery is anyone's guess.
Helllllllllllllllllp

Hi Ray,

From your description I'm not sure that I understand what's happening. You can get a single chirp if a door/bonnet/hatch microswitch is faulty or if you leave the fascia cubby hole door open, and I had the same thing happen when the alarm control unit developed a fault.

I'd get a diagnostic check done, which should highlight any faults present.

Thanks for getting back to me Jeff. The sound is like a micro-switch being activated. The sound emanates from the front boot area. It has done this before but has disappeared after a short time. The lights are on "Auto" and when they switch off the sound I am getting is similar.

Looks like it may have to go into the dealers as it does not sound like a quick fix, excuse the pun.
