Griffin Radiator group buy on Rennlist - finishes on the 17th March

Let me digest the info, but I think I might very well be in for one to share shipping. Do you have any indication of the shipping cost yet?

I think I'm in too. I was going to have a new standard one for the new engine anyway but if this Griffin is all its cracked up to be it could be worthwhile. Let me read some of the testimonials.

Sounds good,, BUT depends how much the shipping would be to the UK..????
Im on the lookout for a better rad for my S2 ....

I haven't heard about shipping costs yet but the more UK orders we get, the more cost efficient it'll be. The contact at Griffin radiators is Scotty, email address mailto:ssullivan@griffinrad.com
The deadline is friday, let me know if anybody is interested in co-ordinating the UK part of the group buy as my brains a bit scrambled at the moment ( jet and tequila lag from a week in Mexico)[;)]

Having done the clear lenses GB last year I'm not keen to run the buy personally. Add to that that I have not yet even found the time to read up on the rad and could see myself just joining because everyone else is (baaaa) then I'm not your man.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]My excuse is new business/contract startup, trying to choose a mobile phone (seriously - my head is spinning on this question because I don't want to buy a lemon) and being more excited about looking for an additional car than parts for the Turbo.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]That's Steve and I both taken a step backward then - who's still in the original line? [:D][FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Yep I am definitely in and will add my name to the Rennlist post after I've hit enter on this one [:D]

The testimonials look good, many previous buyers who are all very happy, it is true bolt in with no fitment issues and is 20% more efficient than standard.

I don't know how we should go about a single delivery address as I know we're all over the country?

Well if Andrew agrees maybe Promax as that's who will be fitting mine. If that's a problem then I'm happy for them to come to my address near Aylesbury in Bucks.

Looks like there are four of us now confirmed on the Rennlist (Steve, Rick, Fen and myself), a couple of others interested from here and also Mark Dalton from Titanic

From what I have read on the threads over there, this radiator will fit an S2 but you will need to change to Turbo mounts to make it fit. Best to make sure before you S2 chaps confirm.

The good news is that the organiser is now trying to arrange an even cheaper price [:D] as there are currently 28 people in the group - well over the predicted 10 when the group buy was set up.

Is anybody thats got an S2 getting one of these.????

Im VERY interested...It looks like itl fit the S2 , apart from a bit of jigery pokery....

Has anybody put there hand up for a central delivery point .????
Im not that central being near Blackpool...

Only snag i can see is , we wont be getting delivery for another 2 months....OR longer , depending on the shipping....I hope my rad will hold out that long....
+ has anybody factored in the cost of import duty + VAT....[8|][8|][8|]

The closing date has passed now - any more takers than the 4 listed above?[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]What are we going to do about shipping? I'm not in any rush (unless I have a failure in the meantime) and I don't mind if my rad ends up at someone else's address for a while until we meet up. Summer is coming and I have met everyone who has expressed an interest at least once, so doubtless we will meet up again over the coming months.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I'm with Dave on using my house though - I'm a bit at the end of a leg if anyone wanted to get their's ASAP from me. Can I be cheeky and suggest (in the absence of knowing where Steve lives) Paul is pretty central in the country?[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

I'm happy for the units to be shipped to Pauls or alternatively I'm north of Aylesbury on the road to Buckingham or our studio is about 15 mins from J9 of the M40 and not far from the Crooked Billet pub in Kingswood ( we could meet in the pub, maybe a Saturday or Sunday lunch time). Wherever the units are shipped to, there will be the import duty and vat to pay on all the units (probably on delivery) so as long as all costs are spilt equally between the people involved ( maybe paying on collection) I can't see a problem. Who wants to speak to Griffin about the shipping options?
Steve

I'm happy to accept them here and can give Griffin a call to arrange it tomorrow

I could drop Steves off at Promax if thats where you're fitting it as I'm only 20 mins away, alternatively a pub meet or even more alternatively we will all be together at the Dyno Day (whenever that may be[:D])

What are Ricks thoughts?

The only fly in the ointment is if the radiator is ready about the same time as my engine I'd like it to go in straight away rather than Jon dismantle everything again to swap radiators over?

Does anyone know if its pretty straight forward to swap the rad if the engine is in situ?

I'm of course happy to pay my share of any costs incurred in regard of duty and clearance, and I will do that immediately I know the cost. If possible I'd rather not make a special trip to collect the rad though as that would wipe out any saving over shipping direct to me - of course if it's a meet or social gathering then I'd probably want to be at that anyway.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I guess the suggestion (assuming Rick is in agreement) is that Paul call Scotty to provide the shipping address for all 4 rads, then we individually pay for our rads plus 1/4 the shipping (if Scotty is OK with that) or we pay Paul 1/4 of the shipping assuming he covers the entire cost? If it's the latter then I suggest we pay Paul immediately and then make a second payment to cover clearance and duty when that is due.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

You're credit is good with me so I'm happy to pay for all 4 plus shipping direct with Scotty if you three then send me a cheque to cover a 1/4 of the total (hmmm Scotty - do you think he could 'beam them up' to us [:D]).

When I get the customs and VAT bill, I'll split it into 4 and you guys can pay me that part at Weltmeister where I'll bring the Rads with me (hopefully they'll be here by then using the 7-8 week rule).

I'll call Rick to confirm this afternoon if he doesn't spot this post sooner.

You're a gent, Paul. Drop me an email when you have a figure and I'll send off a cheque by return for the rad & 1/4 shipping.
