Grill Dilemma

I own an 02 986 S (pre-facelift) and the centre air intake on the front bumper is the one big hole design, which I am not keen on the look of.

I am wondering if anyone is aware of any tasteful styling products available. Ideally I would like it to look like the side intakes which have a nice alloy look grill in them.

I am thinking this would also have the benefit of stopping as many leaves been sucked in to the air intake, which seems to be a particular problem at the moment, given the amount I removed when cleaning at the weekend.

Any help would be appreciated.

I bought these for my S from Simon at http://www.essentialstyling.com/new_page_1.htm

i like them but some dont, it stops the wet leaves and fag packets rotting your rads though [:D]

I like that.

2No alloy ones for the sides and a black one for the centre. I think that would look good.

yes they fit easily, 2 bolts on the outer and 3 on the centre, they fit from the front of the bumper unlike some where you have to remove the bumper to stick/glue it on.
Closer pic here...........
PS. Ive had these years they were the first ones Simon made, they may have changed the fitting, i suggest you email him

Great, I think I am probably going to go for alloy look ones (although black ones do look quite smart).

Having had a look at the site, it does suggest they are easy to fit so I think I will have a crack at it myself.

Thanks for help.[:D]

I'm really in two minds here...

The mesh looks really good, but I'm considering removing the front left and right hand "grills" (I haven't a centre one - boohoo) and spraying them Arctic Silver (the car's colour).

I don't know which one will look the best. I also don't know how to remove the traditional grills from the bumper. Anyone know how to without removing the whole bumper?

If I can't or Artic Silver slats will look pants then it'll have to be mesh. I don't want to damage the look of the car, which is very much like yours - which looks fabulous by the way! [:D]

To fit them is easy, tere are brackets that go behind the L&R slats and long bolts nip it up against the slats, NIP ...not to tight otherwise you distort the mesh, the middle one is a little more difficult as there are no slats, the brackets (3off) go into the vent and slot behind the rubber that you probably arent aware of.
Easy enough, tools needed, a small socket set/ or an adjustable and 1/2 hour of your time.
I also suggest you clean out the vents properly too and be rid of all the debris that WILL eventually rot your rads L&R.
