Hi,

Has anyone had an experience of this when going up/down? Does the motor need replacing or is there a simpler (less costly) alternative?

Sorry - I missed this post!! I haven't needed too - yet. My spoiler seems fine for the moment. It seems like an easy fix though.

I've done mine too. The only word of caution I would add is to be careful cutting the unit open because the raised piece can be a lot closer to the edge than the instructions make it seem. Other than that it's a piece of the proverbial.
