Group Buy - Bullet Camera's

I am about to receive a nice new bullet camera to fix into my RS to record my on and off road (track) activity and have found a supplier that is keen to offer a good discount on their product range if we can get a group buy organised.

Their product range can be found in their online shop on their website:

http://www.fastfilms.co.uk/

I know a lot of you attend track days and perhaps would be interested in recording your footage from the day.

If you could reply to thread on the 964RS forum with your interest I will have a chat with the guys at Fast Films and see what deals we can put together.

By the way I have gone for a 520 Line Bullet Camera Kit with a 2.9mm wide angle lens and a rollcage mount as well as a suction mount for external recording. I will record my footage onto my Archos AV420 Personal Recorder.

If you have any questions about the kit or how it works just ask.

Cheers

Ollie

It needs to be a good discount, I,ve just bought a full 520 line kit from Rf concepts for £155, the one they are selling is 228!

Hi Paul

I have just checked their website and their 520 line kit is £135, the 580 line kit is £228.

Not sure if this includes VAT but if it doesn't the kit still works out to be £158.63 which is pretty close to the RF concepts one.

Hi Paul,

The kit that we (Fast Films) are selling for £228 is a 580 line kit (I believe we are one of the only people in the UK with this), our 520 line kit is only £135. [8D]

Sorry, just seen the reply above.

Both our prices and RF concepts do not include VAT btw.

Cheers, Dave :)

I'm not very familiar with this kind of kit, what kind of money would the Archos add to this setup and how much recording time will it store? Does it have the facility to replay or does it have to downloaded to PC for that?

Do you need to allow for power supplies etc as well or is it all 12v stuff?

Steve

Hi Steve

A new Archos AV420 unit is roughly £300 plus the bullet camera, so it starts to cost serious money... I bought my Archos from eBay and paid £130 for the 20Gb version which will store roughly 5 hours of footage, and as for watching the action they have a built in screen so you can watch it anywhere.

They can also record of TV/DVD/Sky etc so you can store films/MP3's etc on there too. You can connect them to a PC or Mac to copy files off so you can start again.

Have a look at their website:- http://www.archos.com

You can get cigarette lighter adapters for all of the kit and run it off the car's system, but for the time being I am using the internal batteries on the Archos as they last a good few hours and the camera kit has a battery pack which lasts roughly 10 hours.

Hope this makes sense, if not just ask.

Cheers

Just looked at the website [8|] I'm so out of touch!! That's some pretty impressive kit! I run a supercharged Peugeot as a trackday car (faster than my old 3.0sc[;)]), a bit on on-board footage might be on my future mods list.

T11ner

The peugeot sounds a fun bit of kit, I still miss my old 205 GTi [;)]

At present there is a 10% discount that can be had against any of the kit Fastfilms sell for PCGB members.

My original offer of co-ordinating a group buy for a complete camera set-up with mounts etc has been withdrawn for the time being until something can be worked out with the club.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask them and I will try and help where I can.

Regards

Ollie
