Grrr, scrots

Took the 944 out yesterday for a bbq in a local park. Parked it without a second thought and went on my merry way. Came back a few hours later, drove on to Bath and discovered that some little scrot had levered off my bonnet badge, and also scratched the badge panel (thought it doesn't look dented luckily). Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It's not even as though the badge is all shiney - it's 25 years old, and the car is pretty dusty at the mo, not a shiney new Porsche. Do these scrots have nothing better to do with their time?! They've also left craters around the two mounting holes - not sure if badge fitting point is original, looks like there might have been some filler there around the holes which has now cracked off.

Off to Ebay to look for a stick on badge to replace it with, surely that wouldn't be worth anyone's time to nick...

I have no idea what this smiley means, but I thought I'd include it as I've never seen it used! [X(]

Commiserations - only way to look at it is that they could have keyed a few panels while they were at it!

A bit more police visibility and some proper parenting would be a good thing !

God I'm getting old!!!!

Thanks Andrew - I did think that actually (and am still looking for new scrapes that I've missed!) but it's still a pain in the butt.

Slightly worryingly, I agree about the parenting (and maybe more police on the beat and fewer police doing paperwork) and I'm not even 30 yet!! [&:]

This makes me so angry! I've parked nice cars in all kinds of dodgy places and never had any trouble but one night I parked my totally ordinary E36 M3 outside my parents house in a fairly nice village and some scrote stole the badge off the front!

Easy fix - replace the hood crest with a sticker. Removes weight and gives a certain RS feel [:)]

I am just reeling off expletives in my head which I won't use on here!!! If only you could have caught them doing it then it might have been worth there effort. Capital punishment springs to mind []

Thanks for your commiserations [:)] A replacement sticker badge is on the way - I do feel slightly dirty though! [;)]

I've realised that I'm not totally sure when the badge was actually taken, may even have been when the car was on my drive... [&:] Hope not!

Know what you mean! - Yesterday I found a 2 inch scrape on my near side front PU when washing that car. I would have noticed it 2 weeks ago when I last washed the car (I think).... but I cannot work out how it can possibly have happened between the two washes - car simply has not been anywhere that it could have happened when parked - so I must have caused it myself - but don't remember getting even close to anything...so perhaps I was blind last time I washed car!... it baffles me.

Mine had the badge nicked in its previous ownership, so the new badge is not quite in the right place and there is still a 2" gouge to the left of it, I might ask them to sort it whilst they have the paint mixed for the sills

After having 2 badges nicked I put a sticker on. I decided It did not look as nice as the badge so I fitted a new badge over the sticker.

If I parked anywhere at night I just pulled the badge off the top of the sticker.

If you fit a new badge do not fit clips at the back, use the plastic friction fit bushes that push in from the outside.

You will then just have to pay for a new badge when it gets nicked and not the repair to the panel.[;)]
